Benny Gabbay, President of The Phoenix, and Eyal Ben Simon, CEO of The Phoenix, invited me to a press conference where the world premiere of “Haosef,” a documentary about the Phoenix Group’s art collection was screened.

“Haosef” (The Collection) is a new documentary directed by Ayelet Dekel, focusing on the Phoenix Group’s collection of Israeli art. The collection, established in the early 1970s on the initiative of Yosef Chachmi, includes over 200 works by key artists in the history of Israeli art, such as Reuven Rubin, Nachum Gutman, Moshe Mokedi, Ziona Tager, Yosef Zaritsky and many others.
The film examines the history of Israeli art, from the 1920s to the present day, and delves into topics such as collecting, the development of Israeli culture, and the connections between collectors and cultural institutions. It includes interviews with artists, curators, and collectors, and offers an in-depth look at the process of creating the collection and its significance in Israeli culture.
The premiere of the film took place at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, in the presence of senior executives of the Phoenix Group and prominent cultural figures:

The film was praised for its photographic aesthetics and its ability to present the fascinating history of Israeli art through the collection.
